Maowa Laddu – The Premium Khoya Expression
Manha’s maowa laddu is the premium expression of khoya-based sweets. Slow-reduced khoya is lightly roasted in ghee, sweetened with sugar and cardamom, then hand-rolled into pale ivory spheres. The texture is crumbly and melting — it dissolves like a cloud of pure milk sweetness, with a single pistachio for contrast.
Unlike besan laddus, maowa laddu is entirely a dairy sweet, which makes the milk quality decisive. Ours begins with Bogura’s full-fat morning milk — the district’s GI-honored dairy heritage — reduced in-house to fresh khoya, never bought as powder.

Why Maowa Laddu Melts Hearts
Roasting the khoya in ghee before shaping deepens the flavor from plainly milky to gently toasted — the note that makes people close their eyes at the first bite.
- Fresh in-house khoya: milk reduced daily, never powdered
- Ghee-roasted depth: a warm, toasted milk flavor
- Crumbly-melting texture: dissolves in seconds
- Ramadan favorite: a staple of iftar tables

How We Make Maowa Laddu
Fresh khoya is crumbled into a ghee-warmed pan and roasted gently until fragrant, then sweetened and spiced. While still warm, the mixture is pressed and rolled into spheres by hand — the warmth of the palm giving each laddu its smooth finish.
Iftar, Eid, and Beyond
Maowa laddu is especially loved during Ramadan, offering gentle richness after a day of fasting. Pair it with baadami laddo for crunch or mihi dana laddu for classic festivity.

A Note From Our Kitchen
Bengali sweets are living food — they change with the milk, the season, and the hands that make them. Our karigars taste and adjust every batch before it reaches the counter, and we would rather sell out early than sell anything less than fresh. If you are planning a special occasion, call us a day ahead at +88 01329 331 199 and we will prepare your order fresh for pickup or delivery, packed and ready for the celebration.
